On-Line Class Attendance

Attendance in an on-line class is accomplished by visiting the class Web site, reading the materials found on the class Web site, reading email, received from the instructor and other class members, sending email to the instructor and other class members, participating in class discussions and turning in assignments on time.  You are expected to participate in the above activities on a regular basis, just as you would in an on campus class.

FCCJ requires that the "FN" grade will be administratively assigned when instructors report students who have not attended class by the second week of the term.  You must check in with me via email during the first week of class to receive an ID and Password to enter the class Blackboard site.   Otherwise a grade of "FN" will be assigned.

Threaded Discussion Forum  discussion board image

This is an important part of the course and one of the major differences between this course and traditional courses or telecourses. This is where your responses to class discussion questions will be posted. Posted here will also be your response to exercises that may appear on the topic pages.

These online discussions will take the place of discussions would typically have in the classroom. You should think about the material and submit replies that are intelligent and clear. Spend some time thinking about the topics and how they might relate to your own life before you formulate your replies.
